The effect of vegetable extract fermented by lactic acid bacteria on gut microbiota of vitamin C knockout mice
It was suggested that intake of OM-X works preventively against deterioration of gut microbiota balance, decreases in anti-oxidant capacity, liver function and kidney function due to lack of vitamin C
Mice unable to synthesize vitamin C were raised without being fed with vitamin C, and the analysis on their gut microbiota showed the reduced existence ratio of Lactobacillus genus (beneficial bacteria) while the ratio didn’t reduce when raised with OM-X.
Moreover, decreases were observed in internal anti-oxidant capacity, liver function and kidney function with the mice raised without vitamin C, whereas no decrease was shown with the mice raised with OM-X.

Study on protective action of hepatic function using Fermented Vegetable Extract (OM-X)
It is known that antioxidant
capacity decreases in a mouse incapable of synthesizing vitamin C within its
body, and in turn its hepatic function deteriorates.
administered one of these mice OM-X, and measured the numerical numbers (AST,
ALT) of each one. These numbers become higher in accordance with the ingravescence of hepatic function. The transaminase level
increased considerably in a vitamin C synthesis insufficient mouse, compared to
a normal one. On the other hand, the level did not increase significantly in the
vitamin C synthesis insufficient mouse with OM-X administration. The result of
metabolome analysis on liver showed that administering OM-X suppresses
intravital oxidation of mice and a decrease of ATP producibility.

Study concerning the constipation ameliorating action of the fermented vegetable extract (OM-X)
filled with the fermented vegetable extract (OM-X capsule) were given to female
college students who tend to be constipated. As a result, the frequency and the
amount of defecation increased significantly during the ingestion of OM-X
capsules compared to the conditions before taking the capsules. The percentage
of ideal conditions in the studied items representing the condition of feces (color,
shape and smell, and relief after defecation) also increased while taking the
OM-X capsules. Based on these results, the ingestion of OM-X capsules facilitates
the relief of constipation and improves the quality of feces of the people who
tend to be constipated.
